The State Of New Jersey Legalized Recreational Marijuana

 

New Jersey voters passed a constitutional amendment legalizing the consumption of marijuana for adults over the age of 21. The constitutional amendment would take effect as early as January 1, 2021.

The state of New Jersey will be subjecting recreational cannabis products to a 6.65% sales tax. 

"This is a great day for New Jersey. After years of political inaction, voters have definitively approved marijuana legalization," - Steve Hawkins, executive director of the Marijuana Policy Project

New Jersey has now put pressure on neighboring states like Pennslyvania and New York to legalize recreational cannabis use as well.
