Mitch McConnell Blocks Attempt To Increase Stimulus Payments To $2,000
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has blocked a bill that would boost relief payments from $600 up to $2,000. McConnell also stated the three things the senate will prioritize.
They will focus on increasing stimulus payments to $2,000, examining a repeal of Section 230, and considering election-integrity measures. All of these things were things that President Trump demanded the Senate to talk about.
"Those are the three important subjects the president has linked together. This week, the Senate will begin a process to bring these three priorities into focus," - Mitch McConnell
The $2,000 stimulus payments were blocked but that does not mean it won't happen. Mitch McConnell clearly stated that the Senates will focus on increasing the stimulus payments to $2,000. There is no timetable on when the Senates will make a final decision.
