Kamala Harris Reveals A Black Male Agenda

 

With less than 30 days before the 2024 presidential election, Kamala Harris has finally revealed a plan for African American men if becomes president. 

The Vice President has stated once before that she is aware she has to earn the vote of the black man in this country. Her plan for the black man is designed to Build Wealth, Support Their Families, and Lead in Their Communities.

Economic Empowerment Initiatives:

Business Loans: Harris proposes a significant financial commitment by offering one million forgivable loans up to $20,000 for Black entrepreneurs. This move aims to dismantle barriers to wealth creation, providing Black men with the capital needed to start or expand businesses.

Apprenticeships and Employment: Recognizing the need for job training and opportunities, the plan emphasizes doubling the number of registered apprenticeships. This initiative targets high-demand industries, ensuring Black men have access to well-paying jobs with pathways for advancement.

Housing and Homeownership: Aiming to boost Black homeownership, Harris's agenda includes lowering rent and providing substantial down payment assistance, which could triple the number of new Black homeowners.

Health and Education:

Health Equity Initiative: A focus on health outcomes for Black men, including research into diseases disproportionately affecting them, like sickle cell, alongside broader health equity measures.

Educational Pathways: Harris commits to increasing the number of Black male teachers by investing in programs with HBCUs and MSIs, aiming to improve academic outcomes and mentorship for Black youth.

Justice and Legal Reforms:

Legalizing Marijuana: By supporting federal legalization, Harris seeks to rectify past injustices in drug enforcement that have disproportionately impacted Black communities.

Criminal Justice Reforms: Proposals include a form of "ban the box" legislation at the federal level to reduce employment discrimination against those with criminal records.
