Joe Biden Pardon's His Son Hunter Biden

President Joe Biden issued a "full and unconditional" pardon to his son, Hunter Biden. This pardon covers federal offenses Hunter was convicted of, including gun charges and tax evasion, and extends to any potential crimes from January 1, 2014, through December 1, 2024.

Joe Biden's decision to pardon Hunter comes after he had repeatedly stated that he would not interfere with the legal process concerning his son's trials. Hunter Biden faced legal challenges over his failure to pay taxes on time and for lying about his drug use on a firearm purchase form.

These legal troubles came into the public eye when Hunter was convicted on gun charges in June 2024 and pleaded guilty to tax offenses in September of the same year.
